I am a dedicated and detail-oriented language professional with practical experience in English–Swahili translation, transcription, interpretation, proofreading, editing, and social science research. I have developed my language and communication skills through academic training and practical assignments with the University of Dar es Salaam, including the Institute of Kiswahili Studies – Centre for Terminology, Translation, Interpretation and Language Technology, the Chinese Education Program, and other translation and research projects. My experience has involved translating and interpreting different types of content while maintaining the original meaning, context, tone, and cultural relevance. I am particularly careful with grammar, spelling, terminology, sentence structure, and consistency. When working on translation projects, I focus on producing natural and easy-to-understand Swahili or English rather than relying on word-for-word translation. I also have experience in transcription and proofreading, where accuracy and attention to detail are essential. I can carefully listen to audio, identify different speakers where possible, handle unclear sections appropriately, and ensure that the final transcript is complete and well formatted. I am comfortable working with different types of content and following specific project guidelines. I am a responsible, organized, and dependable worker who takes deadlines and quality requirements seriously. I am open to feedback and willing to make corrections when necessary to meet the required standards. My background in Sociology and social science research has also strengthened my ability to understand context, communicate clearly, handle information responsibly, and work with diverse topics and audiences.
